Ravi Bopara Refused The Offer From Sachin Tendulkar

England and Essex cricketer Ravi Bopara has snubbed a second offer to play in the Indian Premier League. Mumbai Indian skipper Sachin Tendulkar made the offer to Bopara.

Bopara rejected a 150,000-pound payday from the Rajasthan Royals last month to concentrate on securing a Test spot.

He received the Mumbai Indians offer on Monday.

Tendulkar approached Bopara after South African Davy Jacobs was ruled out of the IPL with a finger injury.

Tendulkar wanted Bopara to step in for four matches, the Daily Express reports.

But despite the temptation of batting with his boyhood hero, Bopara is not prepared to jeopardise his chances of forging his way back into the picture for the first Test against Sri Lanka.

The retirement of Paul Collingwood at the end of the Ashes series created a gap in the middle order that pitches Bopara and Eoin Morgan in direct competition.
