Bombay High Court Will Pass An Order On Lalit Modi

Bombay High Court will pass an order tomorrow on suspended IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi`s petition to quash BCCI`s disciplinary proceedings against him.

The HC had fixed July 14 for hearing suspended IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi’s petition against the BCCI.

Lawyers of Modi requested the court to grant an early hearing on his petition against BCCI and the court fixed July 14. The BCCI’s diciplinary Committee had asked him to appear before the panel on July 16.

The matter was mentioned before the division bench headed by Justice B H Marlapalle this morning.

Modi also prayed that the court appoint a mutually acceptable and independent person or panel to consider his replies to the three show-cause notices issued to him by the Board alleging various irregularities in the conduct of the T20 League.

The suspension order was issued to Modi by the BCCI on April 25 following which he was slapped show-cause notices on April 26, May 6 and May 31.

As an interim relief, Modi has urged the court to restrain BCCI from taking any further action against him.
